Kent M20 and A2 overnight closures this week with other works on A21

Overnight closures will take place on the M20 London-bound between Junction 7 and Junction 4 throughout the week

Every night this week drivers will need to contend with pre-planned closures on the M20 which will impact travel around the county. Between Monday, November 25 and Friday, November 29 the M20 London-bound will close each night between Junction 7, for the Detling Interchange and Maidstone, and Junction 4 near West Malling.

Each night, this stretch of the motorway will close from 8pm to 6am as part of the ongoing Medway and Allington bridge repairs. While this section of the M20 is closed, traffic will be diverted via the A249 (Sittingbourne Road), to the M2 Junction 2, then onto the A228 to rejoin M20.

Additionally, overnight closures will once again take place on the A2 in Dover between Whitfield and the Duke of York roundabout. The route will shut between 8pm and 6am on two nights for surface works.

Monday, November 25

  • The A2 eastbound Merry Chest entry slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for improvement works.

  • The A2 eastbound will close from Whitfield to the Duke of York roundabout between 8pm and 6am for surface works.

  • The A21 northbound will shut from Vauxhall Lane to Morleys Road roundabout between 8pm and 6am for structural works.

  • The A21 northbound Junction A25 westbound exit slip will close from 10pm to 5.30am for road marking works.

  • The A21 northbound to the M25 clockwise link road will shut from 10pm to 5.30am for road marking works.

  • The M20 westbound will close between Junction 7 and Junction 4 from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.

  • The M20 westbound Junction 6 exit to entry slip distributor road is shut until 6am on Thursday, November 28 for bridge works.

Tuesday, November 26

  • The A2 eastbound Merry Chest entry slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for improvement works.

  • The A2 eastbound will close from Whitfield to the Duke of York roundabout between 8pm and 6am for surface works.

  • The A2 westbound Ebbsfleet entry slip will close from 8pm to 6am for maintenance.

  • The A21 northbound will shut from Vauxhall Lane to Morleys Road roundabout between 8pm and 6am for structural works.

  • The M2 westbound will close from Junction 2 to the A2 Tollgate Junction between 8pm and 6am for surface works.

  • The M20 westbound Junction 6 exit to entry slip distributor road is shut until 6am on Thursday, November 28 for bridge works.

  • The M20 westbound will close between Junction 7 and Junction 4 from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.

  • The M20 southbound Junction 2 exit slip road will shut from 10pm to 5.30am for road marking works.

Wednesday, November 27

  • The A2 eastbound Ebbsfleet exit slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for electrical works.

  • The A21 northbound will shut from Vauxhall Lane to Morleys Road roundabout between 8pm and 6am for structural works.

  • The A21 will close in both directions from Flimwell to Hurst Green between 10pm and 6am for horticulture works.

  • The M20 westbound Junction 6 exit to entry slip distributor road is shut until 6am on Thursday, November 28 for bridge works.

  • The M20 eastbound will shut between Junction 13 and the A20 Courtwood Interchange from 8pm to 6am for surface works.

  • The M20 westbound will close between Junction 7 and Junction 4 from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.

  • The M20 westbound will shut at Junction 1 between the slip roads from 10pm to 5.30am for barrier works.

Thursday, November 28

  • The A2 eastbound Ebbsfleet exit and entry slips will shut from 8pm to 6am for electrical works and maintenance.

  • The A21 northbound will shut from Vauxhall Lane to Morleys Road roundabout between 8pm and 6am for structural works.

  • The M2 westbound Junction 4 entry slip will close between 8pm and 6am for maintenance.

  • The M20 eastbound will shut between Junction 13 and the A20 Courtwood Interchange from 9pm to 6am for surface works.

  • The M20 westbound will close between Junction 7 and Junction 4 from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.

  • The M20 westbound will shut at Junction 1 between the slip roads from 10pm to 5.30am for barrier works.

Friday, November 29

  • The A21 northbound will shut from Vauxhall Lane to Morleys Road roundabout between 8pm and 6am for structural works.

  • The M20 eastbound will shut between Junction 13 and the A20 Courtwood Interchange from 8pm to 6am for surface works.

  • The M20 westbound will close between Junction 7 and Junction 4 from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.

  • The M20 eastbound will shut between Junction 8 and Junction 9 from 8pm to 6am for carriageway works.

  • The M20 westbound will shut at Junction 1 between the slip roads from 11pm to 5.30am for barrier works.

Saturday, November 30

  • The A2 westbound Three Crutches roundabout to the M2 link road will be closed from 8pm to 6am for surface works.

  • The M20 westbound will shut from Junction 9 to Junction 8 from 8pm to 6am for carriageway works.

Sunday, December 1

  • There are no planned maintenance works impacting the A2, A20, A21, A249, M2, M20, M25 or M26 on this date.
