Approximately 5,000 trucks were stuck in Kent, England, including 3,800 at Manston Airport and 1,200 on the M20 motorway, on December 23 after France banned UK freight due to fears over a new coronavirus strain.

French authorities agreed to reopen the border from Wednesday, allowing drivers to enter the country after provided they test negative for COVID-19.
