Kentish Town incident: Woman rushed to hospital after substance thrown at her

A woman has been rushed to hospital after a substance was thrown at her in north London this morning.

Police were called to Kentish Town Road shortly before 7am. The ambulance service was called and took the woman away for treatment.

The extent of her injuries is unknown.

A statement shared by Camden Police said: "Officers were called to #KentishTown Road a little before 0700hrs this morning after a substance was reported to have been thrown at a woman."

It added that she was taken to hospital after the ambulance service was called and officers are awaiting details of her condition.

The road was shut off this morning due to the incident, with a cordon in place at the junction with Anglers Lane.

It was closed until around 9am.

Footage from the scene showed a large police presence, with a fire truck also in attendance.

The Met Police was unable to give further details at this time.
