Kerry Katona 'almost miscarried' daughter Molly after reading hate mail from 'vile troll'

Kerry Katona has detailed how horrific hate mail she received while pregnant with her first child Molly almost triggered a miscarriage due to the stress it caused.

The former Atomic Kitten member has discussed the traumatic experience after Scarlett Moffatt revealed an abusive letter had been sent to her home last week.

"I was horrified. It reminded me of a truly awful experience I had when I was pregnant with Molly," the 39-year-old wrote in her new! column this week.

"[It said]: 'I hope you lose the baby, you’re only with Brian [McFadden] for the money', and 'I hope the baby dies inside you'.

"It stressed me out so much I started bleeding and was rushed to hospital. I almost miscarried my Molly because of what some vile troll did to me. Words can cause so much damage. Think before you put pen to paper."

Katona went on to give birth to Molly, 18, in August 2001. She also shares daughter Lilly-Sue, 16, with McFadden as well as Heidi, 12, and Max, 11, with ex-husband Mark Croft and Dylan-Jorge, five, with George Kay.

Last week, Moffatt shared the contents of a letter that had been posted to her home address which said her appearance on her Channel 4 programme, The Tribe Next Door, was "atrocious".

They called the presenter "so fat", as well as suggesting she "can't speak properly".

In her original post, Moffatt said she "would not let bullies get [her] down", however, she later posted tearful videos to her Instagram stories of her responding to the letter.

"I was going to pretend that I wasn’t bothered, but I think it’s important that I show I actually am. I’ve had quite a hard couple of weeks in terms of press and not nice comments on my Instagram.

“I feel like the letter, as funny as it is that some went out their way to actually send a letter, it has actually bothered us quite a bit. It’s like wow! You feel that strongly about how I look that you’ve sat down and wrote a letter.

“You don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives. I am just a person. I’m someone’s daughter, I’m someone’s girlfriend, I’m someone’s sister. I have feelings.

“I feel like on Instagram and people on telly you think we’re not real life people but we actually are and we have feelings.”
