Kerry Katona says she feels like 'a failure' when her children are bullied

Kerry Katona has admitted she feels like "a failure" when her children get bullied because of who their mum is.

The former Atomic Kitten star has five children, and says they have been subjected to abuse both in person and online.

Speaking on Steph's Packed Lunch, she said: "My children have been hit, they have had abuse face to face, they have had a lot of it online. It’s heart-breaking.”

Katona, 41, went on: "As a parent you feel helpless. Me particularly, I feel to blame because the bullying is because of who their parent is. So that all makes me feel a failure as a mum.”

Fighting back tears, she said: “It’s not fair that my kids are getting insults because of my mistakes.

"I’ve accepted my mistakes, but it is not fair that my children are still getting it."

The star appeared on the show alongside her 18-year-old daughter Lilly-Sue, who she had with her ex Brian McFadden.

Katona was married to the former Westlife singer from 2002 to 2006, and they also share daughter Molly, who is 20.

The star tied the knot with Mark Croft in 2007 and they share daughter Heidi, 14, and son Maxwell, 13.

She had her seven-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge with her third husband George Kay, who died in 2019 of an overdose.

She is now set to exchange vows with personal trainer Ryan Mahoney, who she met on the dating app Bumble in 2018.
