Kerry Katona has described Jeremy Kyle as an "arrogant t***" following the cancellation of his show.

The former Atomic Kitten singer used her personal column in New! magazine to hit out at The Jeremy Kyle Show, claiming it's the right time for it to end.

This comes after the tragic death of Steve Dymond – a guest on the show who reportedly took his own life after failing a lie detector test – led to ITV axing the programme.

Katona admitted that Kyle is a 'good friend' of hers and also recounted the time she appeared on the show.

She wrote: "I'm a good friend of Jeremy Kyle and I've appeared on his show before. He's always been lovely to me - although he can be an arrogant little t***.

"But I don't think you can blame him or the programme for the tragic death of one of his guests."

However, Katona now feels it's the right time to end show, describing it as a "vehicle to mock lower class people with no teeth".

"It feels like the right time to put the show to bed. I feel like it's become a vehicle to mock lower class people with no teeth, whose mental health problems aren't always taken seriously."

Katona appeared on the daytime show back in 2012 to talk about her difficult teenage years. She told a stunned Kyle that her mother introduced her to drugs in a public toilet when she was just 14-years-old.

Following the cancellation of his show, Kyle said he was "utterly devastated" before paying tribute to Steve Dymond.

The presenter said in a statement: "Myself and the production team I worked with for the last 14 years are all utterly devastated by the recent events.

"Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve's family at this incredibly sad time."
