Yahoo News Kerry Katona sends inspiring message after police talk ex down from rooftop
Kerry Katona has thanked fans for their support following the news her estranged husband George Kay reportedly spent two hours on a roof naked and screaming for help earlier this month.
The boxer sparked fears for his mental health during the ordeal in Formby, Liverpool, after he climbed onto the rooftop and police, fire crew and local residents spent over two hours trying to talk him into coming down.
A source told the Daily Star: ‘Most of [what he said] was pretty incoherent, but every now and then he screamed ‘help me’.’
The newspaper reports that Merseyside police confirmed they attended the incident and were able to coax him down.
A spokesman said: ‘Officers were called at 4.05pm to reports a man was on the roof of a property.’
George, 37, was previously sent to hospital under the Mental Health Act in July 2014 after he suffered a breakdown.
Kerry took to Instagram earlier today to post a series of inspirational messages and thank fans after the incident became public, writing: ‘Still on the road! Haven’t read the papers! But thank you all for your messages. (Prayer and kissing emojis) Strength through hard times!’
Kerry married George in 2014 but things came crashing down less than a year later when she dumped him following allegations that he’d assaulted her at her home in West Sussex.
She later dropped the charges and decided to give things another go with him but announced recently that she’s called it quits following a series of blazing rows.
The couple have a three-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge.
This isn’t the first time Kerry has been through a divorce as she went through the same process with her first husband Brian McFadden, with whom she has Molly, 15, and Lily-Sue, 14, and second spouse Mark Croft, whom she has 10-year-old daughter Heidi and nine-year-old son Maxwell.
