Feige recently discussed the forthcoming sequel and how he sees certain narrative threads wrapping up with Empire.

"Storylines can come to an end," he suggests. "The best stories do come to an end. Return Of The Jedi was an ending for a long time and as a 10-year-old in 1983 that carried me through 30 years until there was a sequel."

Feige continued: "That hasn't happened before in the superhero genre. A new actor comes in and a new storyline starts right away. We wanted to do it this way because we think that the best stories have a definitive ending to a storyline. That's certainly what's going to happen next year with Avengers 4."

Fans of Tony Stark and his band of super-merry-men have been burrowing into the comics and recent interviews given by Marvel staff, hoping to unearth Avengers 4 treasure. This has sparked various debates regarding the Avengers' fates.

A man who never seems to stop working, Feige also discussed Marvel's future and how female directors will be a big part of it.

"I cannot promise that [all of the next] 20 Marvel movies will have female directors, but a heck of a lot of them will," he said.
