Kevin Smith responds to fan's Jay & Silent Bob Reboot complaint that the characters tap their phones too hard

Never one to shy away from a lengthy conversation (or tweet), Kevin Smith has taken the time to respond to one fan's rather odd criticism of Jay & Silent Bob Reboot.

Taking to Twitter this week, the fan (although he doesn't seem to be much of one) expressed the view to Smith that the film's characters overreact to everything, and they also tap their phones too hard while texting.

We told you it was a weird criticism.

"Yo! That Jay & Silent Bob reboot should be called 'Silent Bob Reacts To Everything' btw nobody taps that hard on their phones," the fan tweeted directly to Smith.

In response, the director hit back: "I’m pretty sure you were tapping just that hard when you Tweeted this. Of all the plausibility issues one could have with #JayAndSilentBobReboot, I never saw this one coming."

Jay & Silent Bob Reboot sees the titular characters, played by Jason Mewes and Smith respectively, travel across the country to stop Hollywood filming a reboot based on them.

Having made a film with the exact same plot in 1994, the movie is a satirical takedown of Hollywood's obsession with reboots and involves some partial male nudity.
