Khloe Kardashian broke her silence on Instagram after an ‘unauthorised’ bikini photo of her was posted without permission.

On Sunday (4 April), an unedited photo of the Good American co-founder was “accidentally” published by one of her team members on Instagram. From that point forward, the copy of the photo had been coursing on different fan profiles and social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit.

In a new Instagram post published on Thursday, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared a series of unedited photos and videos, along with a statement about her body image struggles.

She wrote: “Hey guys, this is me and my body unretouched and unfiltered.”

“The photo that was posted this week was beautiful. But as someone who has struggled with body image her whole life, when someone takes a photo of you that isn’t flattering in bad lighting or doesn’t capture your body the way it is after working too hard to get it to this point - and then shares it to the world - you should have every right to ask for it not to be shared - no matter who you are.”

“In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and judgement my entire life to be perfect and to meet other’s standards of how I should look has been too much to bear” she added.

This post comes after the media personality’s representatives urged various Instagram accounts to remove copies of the initial image, that was taken during a private family gathering and was not intended to be shared.

Social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter have since begun alerting accounts about the duplicates of the photo being taken down on the grounds that it may constitute a copyright infringement.

In the most recent post, Kardashian also mentioned: “I am not perfect but I promise you that I try every day to live my life as honestly as possible and with empathy and kindness. It doesn’t mean that I have not made mistakes. But I’m not going to lie. It’s almost unbearable trying to live up to the impossible standards that the public have all set for me.”

“For over a decade now in photos, every single flaw and imperfections has been micro-analyzed and, made fun of to the smallest detail and I am reminded of them every day by the world.”

The model highlighted how she takes the criticism to use as motivation to get herself in the “best shape” of her life while also trying to help other people going through “similar struggles”.

She furthermore declared that she loves “a good filter, good lighting and edit here and there.” Adding, “The same way I throw on some make-up, get my nails done or wear a pair of heels to present myself to the world the way I want to be seen and it’s exactly what I will continue to do unapologetically.”

Towards the end of her explanation about how she struggles with her body image, The Good American co-founder also wrote a message for everyone who “feels the constant pressure of not feeling perfect enough.”

She said: “I want you to know I see you and I understand. Every day I am told by my family and friends who love me that I am beautiful but I know that it needs to be believed from within. We are all unique and perfect in our own way.”
