Kidbrooke lorry crash: Driver killed and 11-year-old child fighting for life after vehicle ploughs into house in south-east London

A driver has been killed and a child is fighting for their life after a lorry crashed into two cars and a house in south-east London.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Kidbrooke just after 8am on Monday, where a “number” of people had been injured following the collision.
The London Fire Brigade said that a lorry and two cars were involved in the crash before the lorry ploughed into a house.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the child, 11, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Two other males injured in the crash were also taken to hospital, with one of them later discharged.
London Fire Brigade said the crash led to structural damage to a house in Woolacombe Road.

Firefighter Nathan Hobson, who was at the scene, said: “It was a challenging incident and it appears that a lorry collided with two cars and crashed into a house.
“Specialist urban search and rescue crews attended the scene and efforts were made to free the lorry driver but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
