A masked hooded thug smashed a window and stabbed a teenager as he sat in a car on a quiet road in south east London.

Police and paramedics rushed to reports of an assault in Nelson Mandela Road, Kidbrooke, and found a 19-year-old man with stab wounds.

He was in the driver seat of a car parked on the A2 slip-road when a masked hooded man is reported to have attacked him, police said.

The victim ran towards Kidbrooke Green Park and was found by a witness who called the police.

A Met Police spokesman said: “He was taken to a south London hospital.

“His injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening.

“No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.”

The road was cordoned off by police while an investigation was carried out.
