Kieran Trippier is reportedly ready to leave Newcastle United after the disappointment of losing the captaincy. That's according to The Times, who are reporting that the full-back is deeply hurt at the way he was replaced as Newcastle captain by Bruno Guimaraes on the eve of the new season.

A report from The Athletic on Thursday afternoon claimed that Trippier has expressed a desire to leave Newcastle this summer in search of regular first-team football, and Everton are one of the clubs interested in signing the 33-year-old. However, addressing the links during his pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference, Blues boss Sean Dyche played down the talk of a transfer.

He said: “He’s one of many names that has come up here. As if by magic, his name comes up when we don’t have a right back available.”

The Times is also reporting that Atalanta and Galatasaray are also chasing the 33-year-old, who was a regular in the recent European Championships for England. The right-back was also an unused substitute for Newcastle in their opening-day win over Southampton at the weekend.

Trippier still has two years to run on his current deal with Newcastle. Everton are currently preparing to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in their next Premier League fixture of the season and will be without Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman for the game.
