Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall says he is returning to the Premier League 'a better player' after helping Leicester City to an immediate promotion.

City bounced back up to the top-flight at the first time of asking with their status as Championship champions confirmed on Monday night. This has been a painstaking effort over the course of a long campaign - one that their midfielder has been heavily involved in.

Dewsbury-Hall is the club's second most-relied upon talent throughout the 2023/24 campaign having made 44 appearances - a number beaten only by Stephan Mavididi. In that time he has contributed 12 goals and 14 assists.

"We've been waiting for this moment all season," the 25-year-old told Sky Sports during the title celebrations at Deepdale. "The fans deserve this moment, its a long season and they have been there home and away.

"The Championship is the toughest league in the world. I am going back to the Premier League a better player. The goal going into the season was to lift the trophy at the end of it."

Prior to the club's relegation last season, the midfielder had made 59 top-flight appearances with only seven goal contributions. Now it is his and Enzo Maresca's task to extract the fine form he has displayed in the second tier to once again challenge the elite.

But for now, one final match with little riding on it remains as the Foxes return to the King Power Stadium on Saturday to face Blackburn Rovers and get their hands on the trophy.

The club currently have 97 points on the board so with one very specific goal in mind, Jamie Vardy added: "We've got another target now which is 100 points on Saturday. We'll celebrate tonight and then go again!"
