Chelsea, with former Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca now at the helm, are favourites to sign Kiernan Dewsbury Hall this summer.

The Foxes have managed to fend off past interest in their 2023/24 player of the season, but with financial pressures demanding player sales this summer, it is unclear how long this can go on for. "KDH" is said to be attracting attention from the likes of Manchester United, Brighton and Liverpool, but it is the Chelsea interest that will be the most galling for City supporters.

With Maresca - who was confirmed to have made the move to Stamford Bridge from City on Monday - in charge, the London club have moved from 8/1 to 5/1 favourites for the midfielder's signature, according to Sky Bet. The Italian sees his former talisman as a direct replacement for Conor Gallagher, should he move on this summer.

Brighton and Man United had both previously led the way at a joint 6/1. The latter have kept their pace and remain hot on Chelsea's heels, though the former - who are said to have renewed their interest on Friday - have fallen away at 9/1.

As for the man himself, Dewsbury-Hall took the opportunity to put on record his commitment to the Foxes at their recent awards dinner. The 25-year-old midfielder, who bagged 12 goals and 15 assists last term, said: "I’ve been at this club since I was eight years old… I’ve got no intention of leaving."

As an academy product, he would represent almost pure profit for City, making a sale an attractive option when otherwise the club might be inclined to hang on to one of their most talented individuals.

Last season City made losses of £89.7m and have already been charged by the Premier League for breaches of their Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR). Reports yesterday said they were under pressure to sell before June 30, the close of the next PSR accounting period, if they are to avoid further Premier League sanctions next season.
