A short drop with a sudden stop. No weekly upkeep, no appeals, no parole, no release on licence. And, best of all, a 100% guarantee against re-offending

171 previous convictions at age 41. If we assume he started committing offences at 16 then he was committing an average of 6.84 offences a year. Once again, British justice has utterly failed to protect the public.

I wonder why the judge decided to impose a realistic sentence? Pity it took so many previous crimes to get to this? Surely the justice system/judges must feel a little responsible for her death???

the problem is not the murderer but the justice system that let him walk free after 171 convictions. Something is seriously wrong with our laws and justice

If ever there was a case for bringing back hanging then this is it. The judicial system is a joke.
