Killing Eve dressmaker Molly Goddard strikes again at London Fashion Week

Even if you’ve never heard of Molly Goddard, it’s likely you are already familiar with her creations.

At least, one dress in particular - the frothy confection which, when worn by everyone’s favourite serial killer Villanelle in the smash hit BBC drama Killing Eve, showed the world that you can take on the world in bubblegum pink tulle.

This afternoon at London Fashion Week, the designer treated fans to a new take on her most famous design, only this time it was bigger, brighter and - dare we say it? - even better.

The gown in question, crafted from over 100 metres of bright neon tulle, brought the curtain down on a show which saw Goddard launch a bid to further bolster her celebrity clientele.

As a result, the options for red carpet dressing were as numerous as they were attention-grabbing. Among them were smocked dresses in sugary shades of lemon and lime were layered over black tailored trousers, along with column dresses complete with frilled tulip-shaped skirts. One shimmering shredded top, dripping with hundreds of crystal-covered strands, also stood out as a best dressed list front runner.

But it wasn’t all bad ass ballgowns. Goddard’s latest offering also provided sustenance for the casual wardrobe too. Similarly smocked dresses also came crafted from concrete-grey corduroy, nylon peplum A-line skirts were paired with slouchy Argyle sweaters while footwear came in the form of clogs worn with striped leg warmers or sturdy hiking boots.

This sense of ease and security was also mirrored in the knitted balaclava scarves, which swaddled the head in a protective layer while bags, shaped like eiderdown pillows, were clutched to the sides of several models.

Though if one thing is certain, it’s that Goddard’s future success is safe for another season.
