Kilmarnock defender Stuart Findlay could feature in this weekend’s clash against Dundee after receiving positives results from a scan on his torn calf muscle.

The former Scotland defender was substituted after just 20 minutes of their 3-3 draw against Dundee United on Saturday with gaffer Derek McInnes saying after the game that the centre-back suffered a torn calf, which required scans on Monday.

However, the news is very much more positive than initially expected and he’ll be assessed later in the week but could feature at Dens Park.

Having Findlay available would be a huge boost for Killie as they search for their first league win of the campaign - with fellow centre-back Joe Wright unavailable as he served the final game of his two-match ban for a red card against St Mirren last month.

The club also announced that midfielder Liam Polworth suffered a calf knock and could be ruled out, while Kyle Magennis is hoping to return after the next international break as he continues his bid for a comeback, having not featured since December.
