Kilmarnock gym celebrates double championship success

Kamma Gym in Kilmarnock boasted a fine showing at the recent MTB Fight Show in Linwood as they picked up two Championship belts.

A total of 16 fighters from the gym took part in the event at the On-X Arena with a string of fine performances on the night returning seven wins alongside the pair of new belts.

Caitlyn Freeburn secured the first win of the day on points against Anaya Croft of BDA Gym, which was quickly followed by another points victory as Ollie Ritchie took the decision against Corran Quigley of Assassins Gym.

Next up for the Kilmarnock gym was Rhian McCormick who secured another impressive result for the club with a win against Isla Hunt of ULT as she claimed a unanimous points decision.

Two more wins quickly followed as Oran O’Neil defeated local fighter Nathan Xiu of OB’s Gym and Joseph Hollywood defeated Cameron McDonald of MMAG Gym.

The Fight Team had five fighters competing in Championship matches for title belts on the show with Enzo Paton, Grace Millar and Nathan Kiltie narrowly losing out in very close matches before Harvey Clark picked up the first title of the day with a convincing points victory over Sam Duncan of Aberdeen Muay Thai to win the ISKA Scottish title.

Team-mate Sonny Milroy added a second title for the club soon after with a win against Kyle Gough of OB’s Gym by first round stoppage to earn the MTB Scottish title.
