Kim Cattrall has 'always created drama' among Sex And The City cast

It’s fair to say that Sex And The City has been one of this month’s hottest topics, with the cast taking very public swipes at one another amid reports that Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Fox in the TV show, is the one who put the brakes on a third SATC film.

Kim took to social media to outright deny that she had made “outrageous demands”, as claimed by the Daily Mail, and later slammed her cast mates – particularly Sarah Jessica Parker who played Carrie Bradshaw.

Last week, the 61-year-old actress branded the cast friendship a “toxic relationship, adding: “I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects. To be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous.

“And this is really where I take to task the people from Sex and the City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer.”

Now a source has claimed that Kim has regularly caused “drama” between the four main SATC cast, with the women previously working “very hard to protect their relationship”.

Speaking to People magazine, the insider shared: “Every relationship has its ups and downs and they worked very hard to protect fans from moments that weren’t ups.

“It’s amazing Kim is saying she wasn’t negotiating because she was absolutely asking for many demands, some of which have already been quoted.

“When she said the relationship was toxic, it’s interesting because she is the one who creates the drama, but she won’t take honest responsibility for her actions.

“She’s been protected by their silence for so long I think she just expects that.”

SJP confirmed earlier this month that any hope for a third film was officially “over”, adding that there had been a “beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story” ready for filming.

She shared: “It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”

Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte Yorke, also took to social media to share her disappointment in the third film not going forward, saying: “I wish that we could have made the final chapter, on our own terms, to complete the stories of our characters.

“It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter (beautifully written by MPK) with all of you.”

Kim previously insisted that she had always refused to make another SATC film, chastising reports that she’d made a series of demands.

However, Willie Garson, who played Stanford Blatch in the franchise, took to Twitter to hint that the reports had been completely true, writing: “Dear fans, because I’m ‘toxic’, I’m going to negotiate a contract for 6 months, not come to terms, then say I never wanted to do it anyway.”
