Kim Kardashian claims Kendall Jenner was never part of Taylor Swift's squad

Taylor Swift’s ongoing feud with rapper Kanye West and, consequently, his wife, Kim Kardashian, has been ongoing for a number of years now, with it all coming to a head last year when a fed-up Kim took to social media to prove that Taylor had lied about approving Kanye’s controversial song, ‘Famous’.

Amid all of the drama and Twitter hashtags, many fans were confused by Kim’s beef with the singer due to the fact that the reality star’s half-sister, Kendall Jenner, was widely believed to be a member of Taylor’s infamous ‘Squad’.

Kim spoke out during a live TV interview.

Kendall had previously joined Tay on stage for her 1989 world tour and was often spotted out and about with Taylor and other squad members, including Kendall’s best friend, Cara Delevingne.

However, Kim has now cleared the whole thing up, insisting that Kendall was never quite as friendly with Taylor as we might have thought.

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Kim was asked if outing Taylor’s lies had made life awkward for Kendall, to which the mum-of-two explained: “I don’t know if Kendall was a part of her squad, I don’t think she was.

“I don’t think it was awkward.”

The star was then asked if she’d heard from Taylor since the altercation, with Kim simply shaking her head and shrugging her shoulders – implying that she couldn’t care less about their well-documented feud.

Kanye first released ‘Famous’ last February, with the lyrics: ‘I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that b*tch famous’ sparking controversy.

Taylor was quick to release a statement condemning Kanye for the line, later making a dig at him during her Grammy awards acceptance speech, saying: “I want to say to the young woman out there, there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.”

Kanye always insisted that he had called Taylor to get her approval on the lyric before he released the song, something that Taylor adamantly denied.

However, late last year Kim released a video of Kanye on speakerphone to Taylor where she can be clearly heard approving the lyric and even laughing about the “tongue in cheek” quip.

She tells the father-of-two: “Go with whatever line you think is better. It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way.

“I mean I don’t think anybody would listen to that and be like ‘Oh that’s a real diss, like she must be crying.’ You’ve gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it.”

She also excitedly discussed plans to tell everybody on the Grammys’ red carpet that she was “in on” Kanye’s lyrics the whole time.

Following Kim’s revelation, #KimExposedTaylorParty trended worldwide on Twitter, with Taylor being spammed with the snake emoji across her social media pages as angry fans retaliated to her lies.

Taylor later insisted that she hadn’t approved of Kanye calling her a ‘b*tch’ in the lyrics, but it appears that it was too late and the damage was done – prompting Tay to take a break from the limelight until the whole thing blew over.

During last night’s appearance, Kim also defended Kendall following the controversy that her Pepsi advert sparked earlier this year, with the commercial eventually being pulled after outraged viewers accused it of trivialising serious protests such as Black Lives Matter.

Speaking out, Kim admitted that she hadn’t seen the advert until the outrage began but was quick to insist that 19-year-old Kendall would never have meant to offend anybody.

She shared: “[Kendall] totally understood, at the end of the day, and felt really awful for it and just wants to move on from it

“I think any time someone does anything they don’t have bad intentions of doing it a certain way. Kendall is so sensitive she would never mean for anyone to perceive anything in a negative way.”

Kendall is still yet to comment on the furore that the advert sparked, with Pepsi apologising for the embarrassment and distress that they had caused the model.
