Kim Kardashian wears many hats — and hairstyles — in the name of fashion. But for her latest photoshoot, she experimented with a shocking new look that left us doing a double-take.

The multi-hyphenate superstar, 42, was revealed as CR Fashion Book’s latest cover star on Monday and, in her magazine spread, she wears a buzz cut that makes her look almost unrecognizable.

Far from her signature long, bombshell waves, Kardashian wears what appears to be a super-cropped wig and a scoop-neck, distressed Dsquared2 tank top.

In one photo, she also models a Miu Miu cardigan and tights and, in another, she's made up like a ballerina in a red Jacquemus V-neck sweater and tutu, Falke tights and lace-up flats.

Kardashian’s cover story (out on newsstands Oct. 2) reveals small, yet thoughtful, snippets of her life, like when she feels the sexiest (“After a good workout, or when I wake up with messy hair and no makeup!” she says) and the most peaceful (“When my babies are all asleep at home and I have some time in silence before I pass out.”) and what motivates her to “do anything” to fight for the justices of formerly incarcerated people.

She even coyly revealed that John F. Kennedy Jr. is her "ultimate celebrity crush."

With the issue based around muse mentality, Kardashian also shared her list of icons, including Old Hollywood stars Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe as well as her sisters Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner and their mom Kris Jenner.

“Kourtney always knows what she wants and doesn’t fold when it hasn’t been done before or it’s not the typical path. I respect her so much for that. Khloé’s attention to detail is unmatched and she has the biggest heart in the world. I admire her soul. Kendall is a fun, free spirit and she lives her life so authentically to who she is. I love how she loves her friends and has the best adventures and memories in this life! She values life’s experiences to the fullest. Kylie is such a beautiful soul who is so generous with her energy and wants everyone to be happy. She is just so real.”

Kardashian’s latest cover is a welcomed surprise, considering she’s been absent from the front rows at New York and Milan Fashion Week.

Instead, she’s been busy with on-screen projects, starring alongside Emma Roberts in American Horror Story: Delicate and helping Usher announce his 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show in a new Apple Music commercial.

So how does she stay inspired throughout it all?

"I love traveling the world and getting inspired and motivated by the new adventures and things I see,” the SKIMS titan told CR Fashion Book, adding that she feels “accomplished” when she gets things done. “I’m super inspired right now and it’s such an energizing feeling.”
