Kim Kardashian criticised for promoting 'flat tummy' meal replacements
Just hours after it was reported that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting their fourth child, Kardashian published a promotional ‘flat tummy’ shake post on Instagram.
Kardashian claims that the shakes are ‘helping get my tummy back to flat’ and that they’re ‘all about getting women back on track.’
The 38-year-old Keeping up with the Kardashians star has been promoting the meal replacement products for years, and has repeatedly come under fire for the endorsement. The meal replacement shakes allegedly have several potential unhealthy side effects – including diarrhoea.
British actress and proud feminist Jameela Jamil, who is well known for her anti-Kardashian sentiments, published a none-too-subtle tweet slamming ‘diarrhea powder pushers’ just an hour after Kardashian published her post.
The post included a throwback to her November 2018 video post that mocked meal replacement shakes. In the satiric video Jamil boasts ‘losing 35lbs’ thanks to her ‘supermodel shake’ only to then rush to the toilet with apparent diarrhoea.
I see the diarrhea powder pushers are back out in full force pouting next to their laxative-shakes… so I’m gonna roll this baby back out… so we can all grasp just how gross they are and what they’re doing is… 💋 https://t.co/thkiH7mLs4

Others also took to Twitter to criticise the Kardashian’s promotion of ‘laxatives.’
I might be sat at my parents house, broke af, writing an essay on the travesties of British politics, but Kim Kardashian is out there promoting laxatives as a method of losing weight and you couldn’t pay me any money in the world to do that.

The Kardashian girls are super fit and always post about working out why can’t they just say that instead of selling laxative tea. 🤯

Meanwhile some of Kim’s Instagram followers were left less than impressed with the post. One wrote: ‘This is disgusting, you’re flat stomach had nothing to do with that shake. Just surgery and workouts… There are also an audience of young girls who are at the age when they are very self conscious following you and seeing this…’

Another disgruntled Instagram user wrote” ‘Stop lying, and tag your trainer and doctor!’ and another ‘Nothing to do with your ‘flat tummy shakes’ more celebrity trainer and surgery!’
The Kardashian allegedly gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for each promotional post across her various social media platforms.
And many of her other family members have promoted similar products, including her 63-year-old mother Kris Jenner. Just hours before her second eldest daughter Kim posted about Flat Tummy Co, Jenner posted a promotional video for a rival product ‘310 Shake.’
In the video she claims to have been using the shake ‘for about a year’ and that ‘it’s a great replacement for junk food and sugar.’
