Reality star Kim Kardashian has drawn comparisons between herself and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, while defending the couple against those who have criticised them about their approach to the environment.

It comes as the new parents have been criticised for their use of private jets while championing action against climate change.

Speaking to Reuters at the World Congress on Information Technology, the mother-of-four drew comparisons between herself and the royal couple as she shared: "I think that everyone makes their own choices and decisions. And I think that, like I said, no one's gonna be perfect. I'm not, they’re not. I don't know who is."

Kardashian, 38, added: "I still love and value the fact that they bring such attention to such important movements that need to happen and they are really passionate about, because they are still changing the world."

The businesswoman also praised Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg, branding her as “an amazing young girl”.

Elton John leapt to the defence of the royal couple earlier in the year after they used a private jet to visit his Nice villa in the south of France.

The singer, who was friends with the Prince’s mother Princess Diana before her death in 1997, condemned the “malicious accounts” of the Duke and Duchess’ stay in his £15 million holiday home.

He explained how he had been the one to provide the private jet to “maintain a high level of much-needed protection”.

John continued in his post to Instagram: “To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint™.”
