Kim Kardashian's first husband Damon Thomas has called her "irresponsible" for dismissing their marriage as a drug-fuelled mistake.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was 19 when she eloped with the music producer who is 10 years her senior. She has since claimed she was high on ecstasy at the time of the wedding.

Thomas, 51, has now told Vlad TV: "'I don't remember that at all. That's her thing."

The music producer – who married Kardashian in Las Vegas in 2000 and filed for divorce in 2003 – called the 41-year-old mother-of-four "unfair" for trying to brush their marriage under the carpet.

Thomas said: "I think it's unfair to make those kind of blanket statements because we have kids now. I have children, my kid goes to the same school her kid goes to.

"So imagine him when he has to deal with at school. I think that she should be more responsible with those statements cause there's a lot more to that subject and those things.

"And I could go on to that and blow up the spot but I wouldn't. And I've been very responsible in not talking about what that marriage was and what it meant to me..."

He added: "Because it happened in the past, you can try to sweep it under the rug but you don't stay married to somebody or be with somebody for four to five years and it's just based off of you getting high off of ecstasy, you know?

"That doesn't make any sense at all. So I think that's a very irresponsible thing to say given our children go to the same school and things like that."

Thomas went on to compliment the reality star.

He said: "I'm proud of her, I'm proud of her family, I've seen Kris. We all speaking, when I saw Kris last we were cool."

In an episode of her reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians which aired in 2018 Kim told her sister Kendall Jenner and sister Kourtney Kardashian's ex Scott Disick: "I got married on ecstasy - the first time. I did ecstasy once, I got married. I did it again, I made a sex tape."

Kim Kardashian rose to fame after a sex tape she made with RnB star Ray J was made public.

She married basketball player Kris Humphries in 2011 and filed for divorce 72 days later.

In 2014 she married musician and fashion designer Kanye West in 2014, who she had been dating for two years. They have four children together and split in 2021.
