Kim Kardashian hits out at tabloid that called mum Kris Jenner 'chubby'

Last week, Kim Kardashian warned critics “don’t even try” when it came to tabloid stories about her two children, four-year-old North and two-year-old Saint, and now the reality star has proven that she won’t take any negative stories about her mum, Kris Jenner, laying down either.

Taking to social media last night [9 January], the reality star hit back after the Daily Mail posted old photos of Kris, describing the famous ‘momager’ as “chubby”.

Alongside the youthful photos of Kris at the age of 22, the publication used the headline: “Chubby-faced 22-year-old Kris Jenner models in never-before-seen shots”, with Kim posting a link to the article and writing: “Chubby really? That’s the headline?

“How about beautiful, youthful, stunning?!?!”

The headline appears to have since been changed following Kim’s criticism, with the article’s header now reading: “EXCLUSIVE: ‘She was always looking for the gold.’ Kris Jenner, 22, poses for photographer boyfriend in never-before-seen modeling shots a year before the flight attendant convinced wealthy lawyer Robert Kardashian to marry her”.

However, it does still describe Kris as “chubby” five times in the copy, including the bullet point: “Before she turned momager and reality TV star, Kris Jenner was a chubby-faced store clerk and junior flight attendant who dated a photographer who began taking photos of her when she was 19 years old.”

A later sentence reads: “While they were dating, Garcia shot a couple of cute photos of a chubby-looking Kris, one in which she’s wearing a floppy hat, with a hippy-style look.”

And Kris’ reported former boyfriend, Alfred M. Garcia, also recalls the first time that he saw the star on TV following their break-up, telling the publication: “I looked at the screen and Kris had changed a bit.

“She looked a little more refined. She lost the weight. Her face looked thinner because she had been a little chubby.”

Kim was widely praised for publicly defending her mum by her followers, with many questioning how Kris at 22 could ever have been considered “chubby”.

They wrote: “This isn’t the first and only article I’ve seen using negative points to sell the headline, it’s disgusting! She is BEAUTIFUL!”

“Then they wonder why women are so hard on themselves and go on crash diets… Kris is gorgeous and an icon and always has been.”

“Nothing chubby at all about her. She looks amazing!! Headlines like this are so beyond tiring. Yet there are girls that will see this who think because they aren’t this size something is wrong with them. The media needs to be ashamed of themselves.”

Kris herself is yet to respond to the comments, but we’re sure she’s happy to know that her daughter has her back.
