The Kardashian-West’s brood is reportedly about to expand. According to a confirmed report in People, Kim Kardashian, 39, and Kanye West, 41, are expecting a fourth child via surrogate.

Believed to be a boy and being carried by a surrogate, the baby will join siblings North 5, Saint 3 and Chicago 11 months.

The surrogate is reportedly the same that carried Chicago. Kim chose to have her third child via surrogate after suffering multiple complications while delivering both of her other children.

She openly discussed how she suffered from preeclampsia after giving birth to North and placenta accreta after giving birth to Saint on episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians. She was also being advised by her paediatric doctor to explore surrogacy if she was considering more children.

US Weekly reports that Kim and Kanye chose to have a remaining male embryo fertilised and that the baby boy is due in early May.

In October Kim talked with her close friend Larsa Pippen about her and Kanye’s plans to have more children on Keeping up with the Kardashians.

She said that while Kanye wanted seven children, she wasn’t so sure about such a big family.

“Kanye wants to have more. He’s been harassing me. He wants like seven. He’s like stuck on seven,” she told Pippen.

“I’ve been kinda hesitant about having more kids because it literally keeps me up at night, thinking about how my kids will survive in a crazy world like this,” she added.

Later on in the same episode she told the cameras that she would be happy to have a total of four children.

Kim has also expressed her delight over using a surrogacy, and that she’d consider using one again.

“The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it’s the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody,” she told Elle magazine in May of last year.

While she told People magazine the same month that she was open to having a fourth child.

“I would have maybe one more. I really, really enjoyed the surrogacy process. I will say, when it came to the breastfeeding time, I was like, ‘Okay, this is the best decision I ever made.’

“It’s a game changer, having to not go through every few hours. I can spend so much more time with the older kids and getting them used to the baby,” she told the magazine.
