Kim Kardashian has left fans startled after posting a video of her having a ‘chav’ makeover.
The reality star, 42, uploaded a clip of her transforming into her new look on Tik Tok on Wednesday, following the makeover trend sweeping across the social media platform.
‘Chav’ was a British term derogatorily used in the early 2000s to characterize a young person with perceived ‘brash’ behaviour, and was seen as offensive dig at the working class.
In her latest Tik Tok clip, Kim was first filmed sporting her natural appearance. She then scraped her dark brown hair in a top bun, and went on to apply heavy make-up, whilst miming to a song performed by Blackpool grime artist Millie B.
The lyrics rang out: ‘If you don’t know me, I’m M to the B, coming in hard, you better watch it Sophie’, as Kim proceeded to cake on layers of foundation and bright concealer, along with dark overdrawn eyebrows.
The video ended with the TV star revealing her finished look, with added pale lipstick as she chewed gum.
Fans have shared their shock reactions on social media, following the clip.
One user tweeted: “I don’t think i had kim kardashian doing chav makeup on my 2023 bingo card”.
A second said: “I’m dying at Kim Kardashian’s recent chav make up that she did for a tiktok #KimKardashian”.
“Just saw kim kardashian doing chav makeup and with that its time for bed,” a third commented.
Celebrity Big Brother star and blogger Perez Hilton added: “North West forced her to make this!!! #KimKardashian”.
Kim also posted the video on her second Tik Tok account, shared with her eldest daughter North.
Artist Millie B previously confessed that she found it “weird” that her 2016 song was getting recognised years later, after going on viral on Tik Tok.
Speaking in 2020, she told Dazed magazine: “The song was big when it was first released in 2016, so was always out there, but it sort of died off for a bit.”
Millie B added: “It’s a weird one for me, because it’s my least favourite track I made. But it benefitted me and Bella, so I’m not complaining.”
