Kind-hearted stranger gives £6,000 to animal shelter’s donation box

An anonymous stranger has changed the lives of countless animals after leaving more than £6,000 in cash inside a shelter’s donation box.

Staff at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA in California were stunned when they found a stash of $20 bills inside the box, totalling a staggering $8,000 (£6,190).

They have no idea who is behind the donation and they didn’t even notice anyone drop the wedge of cash off.

Now they shelter has a vast sum to help care for the 12,000 animals brought to them every year.

A spokesperson told The Dodo: “We are overjoyed by the generosity of this anonymous donation.

”We are incredibly grateful and extend a huge thank you to the mystery donor.

“Whoever you are, thank you so much for your generosity. Your donation will go towards all the animals in our care.”

The shelter is not attempting to track down the mystery donor so they can thank them in person.
