Kind-hearted window cleaner is helping motorists by cleaning local ROAD SIGNS

A kind-hearted window cleaner is doing a good turn for motorists in his local area – by scrubbing dirty road signs so people don’t get lost.

Trevor Robinson uses his professional window-cleaning equipment to make sure that the names of villages, speed limit signs and hazard warnings are all sparkling clean.

The 35-year-old, from Rough Close, Staffordshire, said he has cleaned dozens of road signs over the last few months.

Trevor said: “I had been thinking about doing it for a while and one day just stopped and did it,” said Trevor.

“I have all of the kit in the back of the van so I just gave it a quick once over and it came up really well and looked brand new. The difference it makes is quite remarkable on some of them.”

After spreading the word via his business’s Facebook page, Trevor has seen other window cleaners follow his example.

“The photos get a great response and other window cleaners are starting to copy the idea,” he added.

“I just try to clean the dirty signs I come across,” he said. “I try and do two or three a day.

“Some are almost invisible so it really helps drivers, especially at night. I just wanted to give something back to the community.”

Example – other window cleaners are now apparently following Trevor’s lead

Councillor Wendy Jennings, who represents Rough Close on Fulford Parish Council, said she was delighted a villager was doing their bit to keep the area clean.

She added: “It is very community spirited of him and will help the drivers to see the signs.

“It’s the sort of thing we need more of. He is an asset to the community.”

Staffordshire County Council has also thanked Trevor for his community-spirited actions but urged people to make sure they are safe if undertaking such tasks.
