Kindertransport memorial unveiled at port in Harwich
A new memorial to the Kindertransport is unveiled in Harwich, Essex, which was the main point of entry for most of the 10,000 children who came to Britain from Nazi occupied territories on the Kindertransport. Speaking at the event, Ruth Jacobs, who arrived in Britain on a Kindertransport, said: “I feel that the whole spirit of England has been throughout my life here, one of welcome.”.
