King Charles is renowned for his dedication as a grandfather, often spending quality time with the youngest members of the Royal Family.

Over the years, he has been known to share charming anecdotes about his grandchildren with the public and can frequently be heard making plans to visit them.

The King is a proud grandfather of five to Prince William and Kate's three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, as well as Harry and Meghan's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

He also plays the role of step-grandfather to Queen Camilla's five grandchildren, Lola and Freddie Parker-Bowles and Eliza, Gus and Louis Lopes, OK! reports.

In addition to sharing delightful stories, King Charles is also known for his generous gifts to his grandchildren.

For Prince George's first birthday, King Charles had an extraordinary gift installed at his Gloucestershire residence, Highgrove House.

A Victorian-style 'Shepherd's hut', gifted by Dorset-based company Plankbridge, was presented to the young prince, complete with a wood-burning stove and a day bed.

Visitors on guided tours through The King's gardens can spot the hut, which is believed to be a favourite play spot for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

When they tire of the playhouse, the Wales children can also enjoy the treehouse built for Prince William in 1989. Originally installed for William's 7th birthday, the wooden house has since been refurbished for King Charles' grandchildren to enjoy.

King Charles has made a touching gesture to honour Prince George, as revealed during his appearance on the One Show. The King discussed sustainable living and mentioned a special woodland dedication: "This was a rather empty field that the farm didn't need anymore.

"The great thing was that I managed to plant it the same year that my grandson was born, the eldest, George, so I thought I'd call it Prince George's wood."

Royal expert Robert Jobson, in an article for the Express, highlighted the unique bond between Prince George and his grandfather, suggesting regular "informal chats" are taking place, much like William's interactions with Queen Elizabeth II during his Eton days.

Jobson noted: "You sense, just like William's relationship with the late Queen, Elizabeth II, when he was an Eton schoolboy, George's close bond with the King will be important in preparing for his future role."

Jennie Bond, a former BBC Royal correspondent, reflected on this insight to OK!, saying: "When you've had a wonderful experience in life, it's natural to want to replicate it for your children and grandchildren."

"Charles had a magical relationship with his grandmother, the Queen Mother. And I'm sure his dearest wish is to give George and his other grandchildren a similar strong and loving relationship."

Jennie weighed in: "For all his serious ponderings on the state of the world and in spite of his heavy workload, Charles is quite a soppy old thing really and I'm sure he hugely values the time he has available to spend with his grandchildren."
