King Charles and Queen Camilla to visit Middlesbrough with celebration event planned
The King and Queen are to visit Middlesbrough next month.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to welcome Their Majesties at a celebration event in Centre Square on the afternoon of Thursday, February 13. King Charles and Queen Camilla will attend several engagements before walking through the area close to the town hall and meeting local dignitaries.
Middlesbrough Mayor Chris Cooke said: “This is wonderful news for our town and I know people will be very excited to welcome the King and Queen.”

An event organised by Middlesbrough Council with the support of Teesside University will entertain crowds before Their Majesties appear. Local musician and mental health campaigner Mike McGrother will lead performances of songs and poetry that celebrate the Middlesbrough area, with his Infant Hercules Choir and band The Wildcats of Kilkenny.
King Charles III’s visit will be the first to Middlesbrough by a Head of State since his mother Queen Elizabeth II officially opened Pallister Park in 1993. Timings and other information for people planning to attend the Centre Square event will be released in due course.
