King Charles is reportedly considering severing all ties with Prince Andrew, who has refused to relocate to Harry and Meghan's former residence. The 75 year old monarch is believed to be pressuring his scandal-ridden brother to vacate the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor, having previously suggested he move into Frogmore Cottage.

Prior to their move to the US, Prince Harry and Meghan resided at the cottage, maintaining possession until they were served an eviction notice last year. Now, it appears it's Andrew's turn to vacate his Royal abode, with Charles allegedly warning him of severe repercussions if he remains.

The Duke of York, 64, is said to have a lengthy lease on the Royal Lodge. However, as King, Charles is ultimately accountable for the Royal household's finances and could opt to withhold funds from Andrew, potentially leaving him unable to cover the exorbitant annual maintenance costs of the Grade II-listed property.

King Charles also currently foots the bill for Andrew's £3million-a-year security costs.

Andrew's stubbornness in not accepting the new residence after repeated requests has reportedly exasperated Charles. A Royal insider disclosed to The Times: "The King's kindness is not without limit and there is a very good option for Andrew to move into Frogmore Cottage, recently vacated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which also has the benefit of being within the Windsor Castle security cordon hence reducing the need for alternative round-the-clock security for Royal Lodge.", reports the Mirror.

Furthermore, the source noted that Andrew is "taking longer than desirable" to "recognise the reality of the situation".

Yet, Andrew appears unyielding in his stance. An individual familiar with the Duke of York suggested to the publication that he might "dig in" if the deadlock persists, mentioning that he has already benefited from a "stay of execution" due to Sarah Ferguson and the recent illnesses of the King himself.

The Royal Lodge, formerly the Queen Mother's abode, is a 19th-century Grade II-listed building boasting a swimming pool and 90 acres of grounds. Andrew secured a 75-year lease on the property in 2003 and resides there with his former spouse Sarah Ferguson.

However, early 2023 saw rumours emerge that Charles was eager for his brother to vacate and relocate to Frogmore Cottage, which has undergone extensive refurbishment.

After ascending to the throne, it's reported that the King also slashed Andrew's £250,000 yearly allowance previously provided by the late Queen Elizabeth. The Royal Lodge is rumoured to need repair works costing around £2 million.

Buckingham Palace has been contacted by The Mirror for a statement.
