Matthew Vaughn is seemingly determined to make Kingsman the next major cinematic universe, starting with spin-off movie Kingsman: The Great Game.

In June 2018, Vaughn confirmed plans to shoot Kingsman 3 – which will be "the conclusion of the Harry Hart-Eggsy relationship" – back-to-back with The Great Game, but not only that, he's also plotting a movie based on Statesman, the American organisation introduced in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Oh, and there's an eight-hour TV show planned too if three movies aren't enough Kingsman for you.

But it seems that the next Kingsman we'll see on screen is The Great Game, so here's everything we know about it so far.

Kingsman The Great Game release date: When's it coming?

So we think that we could be seeing the spin-off movie on November 8, 2019 in UK and US cinemas. That's currently the release date set for an untitled Kingsman movie that was assumed to be Kingsman 3.

However, after Taron Egerton confirmed that he was "not in the next Kingsman movie", it seems that we can expect the spin-off movie before Kingsman 3. Despite what some people feared, Egerton's comments didn't mean he wasn't going to be in the threequel as it wouldn't make sense for Eggsy to be missing for that.

"People seem awfully confused by this. The Kingsman movie Matthew is shooting in the New Year is a prequel set at the beginning of the organisation in 1918 as reported a while back. Kingsman 3 comes later," confirmed Kingsman creator Mark Millar on Twitter.

So, for now, it seems that Kingsman: The Great Game will start shooting as early as January 2019 for a November 2019 release. If Vaughn does shoot the movies back-to-back, that means we could expect Kingsman 3 by summer 2020.

Kingsman The Great Game plot: What's it about?

The spin-off movie is set in the early 1900s and explores the origins of the Kingsman organisation, way before the likes of Harry Hart and Eggsy got involved.

Much like the first movie, we can expect to see an established Kingsman agent take someone under his wing and train them in the ways of the organisation. "His idea for the new one is incredibly exciting," enthused Egerton.

Kingsman The Great Game cast: Who's in it?

So far, the only cast confirmed are Ralph Fiennes and Trust star Harris Dickinson as the Kingsman agent and a British teen called Conrad, respectively.

Given when it's set, we can't expect to see any of the established Kingsman cast like Colin Firth and Mark Strong, unless the prequel spin-off has any scenes set in the present day, potentially as a set-up to Kingsman 3.

In the lead-up to filming starting in early 2019, there will be more stars announced for the prequel, including who is playing the main villain, a position taken up by Samuel L Jackson and Julianne Moore in the previous two movies.

Kingsman The Great Game trailer: When can we expect it?

If filming starts when it's expected to, we reckon the first footage from the prequel will be released in early summer, but watch this space.

Kingsman: The Great Game (or Kingsman 3) will be released in cinemas on November 8, 2019.
