Klopp to reward Liverpool star with contract extension; he has played just four minutes this season
Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas is set to sign a two-year contract extension which will see him remain at Anfield until 2027, according to reports.
The Greek left-back has made 62 appearances in all competitions for the Reds since joining from Olympiacos in 2020 and Jurgen Klopp is very happy with him.
Tsimikas’ most memorable contribution for Liverpool to date is his winning penalty against Chelsea in the 2022 FA Cup final. He also helped the Merseyside club win the League cup earlier that year.
The 27-year-old finds himself behind Andy Robertson in the pecking order, however, and has played just four minutes of football so far this season.
Despite this, Klopp is set to reward Tsimikas with a new contract. According to the Athletic, Liverpool are set to hand Tsimikas a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2027. His current deal is valid until 2025.
The defender will also hope that he can get more chances to impress the Anfield faithful this term, and hopefully for him, nail down a consistent spot in the Liverpool starting XI.
