A police spokesman said: "We have launched an investigation after cash was taken from a Co-op by a masked suspect in Tean. At about 9.50pm on Saturday (23 November), a masked man demanded money from two members of staff inside the store on High Street. The suspect was wearing a grey jacket, joggers, black gloves, and brown walking boots. He was also carrying a kitchen knife at the time. After taking the money, the suspect left the store. Officers have gathered CCTV from the scene and have carried out a number of enquiries as part of our investigation into the incident."

Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery. They should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 681 of 23 November, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
