Knife-wielding van driver in Plymouth road rage drama
A couple were threatened by a man with a knife during a road rage incident on Tavistock Road in Plymouth. A driver tried to crash his red van into another vehicle as it tried to join Tavistock Road from Budshead Road at around 4.20pm on November 14, 2024, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
A man and a woman in a black VW Golf were blocked from joining Tavistock Road after the red van driver deliberately accelerated. After merging into traffic, the van driver tried to cause a crash and became verbally abusive, the police force said.
A confrontation between both parties, who got out of their vehicles, then broke out in the middle of the road near McDonald's. The van driver had a knife and threatened the couple before getting back into his vehicle and driving off. Devon and Cornwall Police said no one was hurt but the couple were left shaken.
