Knives handed in during amnesty but police want more of them
These knives have been handed in to police in Flintshire during an amnesty. Officers want to take more weapons off the streets at other events today.
They posted this image of the blades on the NWP North Flintshire Facebook page late yesterday. A spokesman said: "Following the post earlier today, I’d like to thank those who came out to speak with me about weapons, and other issues.
"It’s been a positive day, with people signing up to our Community Alert system, having positive discussions about local issues and handing knives in for destruction."

They thanked the members of the public who came forward and said: "These will be taken to our amnesty bin and safely destroyed."
They added: "Before you say it... YES, some are rusty, however, most are still sharp and in the wrong hands could do some serious damage."
* More knife amnesty events will be held in Flintshire today: In Bagillt High Street car park between 10am-12pm and outside Tesco in Holywell from 3pm-4:30pm.
