It's the time of year many have been waiting for as the clocks go forward this weekend.

British Summer Time (BST), sometimes referred to as Daylight Saving Time (DST) will see the clocks go forward by an hour as we bid farewell to the winter months of dark early evenings.

Here's all you need to know:

When will the clocks go forward?

The clocks go forward on the last Sunday in March, therefore, this weekend - Sunday, March 26 at 1 am

Will I lose an hour of sleep?
Yes. As the time goes forward an hour,  it does mean that you will lose an hour of sleep. You'll get it back when the clocks go back later this year.

Do I have to change the time on my phone?

Most smartphones will automatically update in line with when the clocks go forward. For manual clocks or alarms, you may have to update the time yourself.

What do the clocks going forward mean?

In alignment with the summer months, clocks go forward by an hour to make the most of the extensive sunlight that only happens during that time of the year.

When do the clocks go back?

The clocks won't go back an hour until Sunday, October 29 2023.
