KNP Complex Fire Burns Under Orange Sky in California

The KNP Complex Fire burning in Tulare County, California, grew 8,522 acres within 24 hours, reaching about 36,850 acres and remaining at zero percent containment as of Friday, September 24, according to fire officials.

On Friday, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office issued a new evacuation order due to the nearby Windy Fire burning south of the KNP Complex, both of which are burning within the Sequoia National Park.

Fire crews were prioritizing the protection of life and property in impacted communities, the Giant Sequoia Groves, and infrastructure within the Sequoia National Park, Cal Fire said.
