Kourtney opens up about IVF and struggling to fall pregnant with Travis' baby

In a new (since deleted) clip advertising the Kardashian-Jenner family's new Hulu show, The Kardashians, Kourtney Kardashian bravely opens up about finding it hard to fall pregnant with her fiancé Travis Barker's baby. Sharing that the couple have undergone IVF in the hopes of welcoming in new life together, Kourt shed light on some of the tough side effects she's experienced through it such as being put "into menopause" by her medication.

"It hasn’t been the most amazing experience," the eldest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan can be seen telling her mum, Kris Jenner, in the leaked clip. She also adds that the treatment saw her gain weight which was repeatedly the subject of unnecessary comments online – and hurtfully, many pregnancy speculation stories.

"I’m, like, it’s so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they’re going through," she says during the emotional conversation. "The medication that they’ve been giving me, they put me into menopause. Literally into menopause."

In response, Kris asks Kourtney to elaborate and asks if she's experiencing menopausal symptoms due to a drug, to which she replies "yes". However, Kourt didn't specify further as to which drug(s) she has been prescribed.

According to the NHS, women who have been through the menopause may still be able to conceive a child through fertility treatments "by using donated eggs from another woman, or using your own eggs if you had some stored".

Having her eggs frozen is a process that Kourtney has also previously been open about on the show, allowing the cameras to follow the gruelling procedure and sharing how it took a toll on her mental health.

"It’s like crazy. I feel like I want to jump out of my skin. I’m so crazy, I can’t take it," she said. "I just feel like this is for safety. I hope that going through all of this is worth it. I don’t want to put my body through something like this again. The emotions of it all are just a lot."

In total, Kourtney says she was able to retrieve seven eggs and is glad to have the "insurance" and peace of mind.

Here's sending all the positive vibes Kourtney and Travis' way (and sidenote: please can this be the final reminder that it's truly never okay to comment on another person's body or speculate about a pregnancy?).
