Kim Kardashian West has teamed up with sisters Kylie, Khloe, and Kourtney on fragrances in the past year—but for Mother's Day, she tapped Momager Kris Jenner for her first-ever perfume collab. Launching today, the KKW x KRIS perfume is described as a "timeless" and "ageless" scent that celebrates the bond and "unconditional love" between mother and daughter. We spoke with Kardashian West and Jenner about creating the new scent, perfume rituals, and how they're spending time at home.

"Creating a fragrance together with Kim in time for Mother's Day was magical! We've talked about doing this for years, so to see our shared vision come to life has been amazing," says Jenner. "Kim and I have similar tastes which makes working together a dream; we both wanted a classic, ageless scent that is beautiful and empowering for anyone who wears it and I think this fragrance perfectly embodies that."

The KKW x KRIS perfume is a woody, white floral that opens bright and sweet but quickly transforms to a sophisticated and warm scent. "I knew that I wanted this fragrance to smell exactly like how my Mom smells and that would be a combination of fragrances she’s worn, mixed with her lotion that she wears, mixed with just her natural scent," Kardashian West tells BAZAAR. The key notes are freesia, tagete, and aperol spritz accord in the top; gardenia, tuberose in the middle; and cashmere woods, golden amber in the base. "She always really gravitates towards these florals that are in the fragrance. Her favorite floral is definitely gardenia and tuberose, really creamy middle notes. I wanted it rich and floral but with a woodsy edge to it," says the beauty mogul. "Every time someone smells it—from one of my sisters to a friend—they're like, ‘Oh your mom was just here.’ There's not even a question of what my mom smells like."

Jenner is a perfume loyalist. "I wear perfume every single day. It’s very important to me and it makes me feel good about myself. I kind of feel like I am not finished getting dressed until I have my fragrance on," she tells BAZAAR. "That’s super important to me." Jenner says the first fragrance she ever wore was Charlie by Revlon. "Then when I became more mature and grew into a lady and got married I started using Van Cleef & Arpels. I must have used that for a decade or so. I went from there to Michael by Michael Kors and I wore Michael for, oh gosh, another decade or so. Or two. And then Kim came out with her first fragrance, Kim Kardashian, and I fell in love with it and was super loyal to that. And now here we are."

Now that her daughter has the KKW Fragrance brand, Jenner switches up her perfume more often—but always goes back to what she loves. "Kim really nailed it with the Kim and Kris fragrance because it’s a combination of what Kim and I have loved all along," she adds.

The bottle is unlike anything we've seen from KKW Fragrance before, but it will be familiar to fans of the Kardashian-Jenner aesthetic. "The design of the bottle was inspired by the neutral color palette inside my home, knowing it would look beautiful in any bathroom or vanity but also signifies the close bond between a mother and daughter." Kardashian West says they also bounced around the idea of a round bottle, but ultimately ended up with the six-pointed shape, each point symbolizing one of Jenner's children.

Kardashian West noted on Instagram that the brand will be donating a portion of profits to charity given the timing: "In response to the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic affecting families and children, 20% of profits from all sales on KKWFragrance.com from April 15th through May 5th will be donated to @blessingsinabackpack, an organization that provides food on the weekends for children across America who might otherwise go hungry."

Both Jenner and Kardashian West are currently staying at home, following social distancing guidelines. We wondered—is Jenner doing her own glam? "I have taken this time to actually try some new products that both Kim and Kylie are working on. It's given me an opportunity to try Kylie’s new skin products, which are very exciting, and I'm giving my notes to the team and to Kylie daily," she says. "That’s been really fun for me, because I am always working and always glammed and don’t have as much time to work with the different products." Jenner says she's been enjoying taking a small break from makeup. "The days that I do put it on—I am not going to lie—it feels really good. Every once in a while, I will sit and do my makeup and have some fun with it and try some new makeup things. It’s been really kind of a pleasure, to be honest."

For Kardashian West, she's spending the time at home balancing work, law school, and motherhood (as seen in her recent KKW Beauty tutorial with a hilarious cameo by daughter North West). Is she still finding time to study law? "It’s really difficult, my attorney sent me a whole new program today. We are going to gear up and get into study mode. My kids honestly don't give me a second to breathe when I am home," she tells BAZAAR. "It has been really challenging, I have to say. I have been making it work and locking myself in my room. I always feel so guilty when I lock the door, and I haven't done that, so I just decided to do that."

Luckily, Kardashian West can turn to Jenner whenever she needs motherly guidance. So we asked the Momager—what advice do you have for moms right now? "I think that it’s really stressful being at home with all the kids. All the responsibility, and cooking for everybody, and making sure everybody is bathed, and keeping everybody else’s spirits up—it’s a full-time job. It can get very hard on a lot of people emotionally and mentally," says Jenner. "Take care of your mental and emotional health and do something for yourself once a day if you possibly can." She recommends taking a long, hot shower or trying to catch a movie while the kids are napping. "I find it really helpful to watch Christmas movies, as crazy as that sounds, that makes me feel really happy. I think I’ve watched The Holiday about 30 times, but it takes me to another place. I feel refreshed again."

Jenner says the key is finding small moments of rest or relaxation. "I remember when my kids were little and I would be at home, for example, with four little ones, and I thought the day would never end. Then finally when it did and I got a little bit of rest, you wake up feeling like a different person."
