While we're super excited about the return of Love Actually for Red Nose Day, we know that not every character is going to be able to appear in the ten-minute-long sketch.

One of the characters we were unsure about was self-proclaimed sex god Colin, played by Kris Marshall - but now it's confirmed he won't be back.

So what's Colin up to instead?

Well... speaking to the Radio Times, director Richard Curtis said: "I'm assuming that he's in prison now, but I hope I'm wrong."

Now that we know Colin won't be back for the sequel, we're actually okay with that.

And looking at the bigger picture, we can cope with Kris Marshall not returning - while his story was a bit of light relief in between the sad bits, it was probably the least interesting strand of the film.

Plus the whole scene is America is just ridiculous, and we say that about a film where no-one seems to notice Mia's ridiculously unsubtle seduction techniques.

Ah, it's still good though. Let's have a watch:

Curtis also admitted that he was worried about the logistics of uniting the cast, saying: "Can we get any of the cast in the country at the same time? Is Liam Neeson making Taken 4? Is Lucia Moniz in Portugal? Is Colin Firth too grand now he's won an Oscar?

"Last time round, we built our own version of Downing Street. Can we find another house that looks like Downing Street with a staircase that Hugh Grant can dance down?

"Can Hugh Grant still dance? If he does, what can he dance to?"

Emma Thompson definitely won't be returning for the sketch, entitled Red Nose Day Actually, after the tragic passing of Alan Rickman last year.

While we're on the topic, why not take our quiz to see if you can name the characters from the classic film?

The sequel will be broadcast on BBC One on Red Nose Day - Friday, March 24.
