Kristofer Hivju From 'Game of Thrones' Thinks He Knows What Happened to Jon Snow After the Finale

From Esquire

It's been about nine months since Game of Thrones wrapped up its eight-season run, and the sheer disappointment that marked its series finale is still tough to comprehend. Arya sailing off to who-knows where? Jon, despite being a potential heir to both the Six Kingdoms and the brand-new independent nation in the north, heading back beyond the wall? Bran, the same kid who disappeared for a season and spent much the time he was around with his eyes rolled into the back of his head, winding up king? This is one wound that, so far at least, isn't healing with the help of time.

But when Entertainment Weekly caught up with Thrones star Kristofer Hivju last week, the Tormund actor offered his view of what happened to Jon after he made his tragic trip back north.

"Jon is in a huge depression, so he needs Tormund to cheer him up, by the fire, warming each other," Hivju told EW. "Tormund is pretty heartbroken himself, so maybe they can bond over that."

While it's great that Jon at least had his good buddy Tormund to keep him company beyond the wall, Hivju's portrait of two weary warriors consoling each other in an icy wasteland isn't exactly the happy future I was hoping lay in store for the pair. But hopefully after they both have a good cry, they'll move on and embrace their new lives. Maybe Jon will meet another awesome wildling lady, and Tormund can find the big woman of his dreams.
