KSI issues apology for using racial slur in YouTube video

YouTuber, rapper, boxer and businessman KSI has apologized for using a racial slur in a video with his YouTube group The Sidemen. In the video, which was based on the UK game show 'Countdown', KSI created a four-letter derogatory word for people of Pakistani origin. Social media users were quick to blast KSI and the Sidemen for using and laughing at the racial slur. One user said the YouTubers can “go f**k themselves” while another pointed out that “racism isn’t banter”. In a tweet, KSI admitted that there’s “no excuse” and he “shouldn’t have said it”. The YouTuber then said that his fans “shouldn’t worship [him] or put [him] on a pedestal” as he’s “not perfect”. He finished the apology tweet by revealing that he is taking a break from social media “for a while” as lately, he has been “messing up a lot”.
