Kyle Richards' Daughter Farrah Brittany Confirms Split from Fiancé Alex Manos: 'It Was Really Hard'
The couple announced their engagement in November 2021 with a post on Instagram
Farrah Brittany and her fiancé Alex Manos are going their separate ways.
The daughter of Kyle Richards admitted that their split will play out on the season 2 of Buying Beverly Hills, telling Entertainment Tonight, "Very sensitive subject to be playing out on TV, but it is what it is."
"It was really hard," Farrah added. "The whole season, I was dealing with a lot, obviously, trying to focus on my career having so much going on in the family, in my own personal relationship."
In a preview of upcoming season of Netflix series, Richards asks her husband Mauricio Umansky about the status of Farrah's relationship. Umansky, 53, replies, "I try not to deal with it too much, not to ask. She likes to hide her emotions a lot."
"She always has," Richards, 55, agrees. "I'll test it a little bit and ask, and then I can tell if she's in the mood or not, sometimes she'll quickly open up and share. Other times, she'll be very short with the answer and I'm like, 'OK.' Trying to respect that. It's just hard. I just want her to be happy."
In a confessional, Umansky — who is going through his own marital issues with Richards — weighs in on the status of Farrah's relationship, saying, "It feels like the relationship is stalled right now. I know Farrah wants the fairy tale — but the reality is that marriages are difficult — and I'm really glad and proud that Farrah is taking her time trying to figure out what to do because marriage is a huge commitment and even the best marriages sometimes don't work."
Back in August, the reality star sparked speculation about the status of their relationship when she was spotted without her engagement ring during a family trip to Italy. In a photo shared to Instagram at the time, Farrah could be seen holding a beverage in her right hand while her left was hidden from view.
Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that she strategically covered her ring finger in other photos she posted from the trip.
Farrah announced in November 2021 that she was a bride-to-be. At the time, she posted a series of photos and videos from their engagement party on Instagram. "Beyond grateful for you," she captioned the post. "I love you so much @mralexmanos."
Richards celebrated her eldest daughter — whom she shares with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie — in an Instagram tribute of her own.
"My baby @farrahbritt is getting married!" the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star wrote alongside photos of the couple and a congratulatory cake. "We love Alex so much and couldn't be happier!! Congratulations Farrah & Alex."

Farrah’s broken engagement follows the news of her mother’s separation from her stepfather Umansky. On July 3, PEOPLE revealed that the now-exes had decided to separate after 27 years of marriage.
"Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof,” a source close to the pair shared. “They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family."
Shortly after, the couple shared a joint statement on their social media accounts, confirming the news but clarifying that they weren't planning to divorce.
"In regards to the news that came out about us today... Any claims regarding divorcing are untrue," they wrote. "However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously."
“There has been no wrongdoing on anyone's part," they continued. "Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative."
They have since been open about navigating their separation and the uncertain future of their marriage.
