Kyle Richards Will Make a Decision About Returning to “RHOBH” at the 'Last Minute' After Being 'Under a Microscope'
The reality star has been taking some heat at the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' season 13 reunion for keeping her marital issues with Mauricio Umansky under wraps
Kyle Richards' fate on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills remains unknown.
The Bravo mainstay, 55, confessed she didn't know if she would be returning to the reality show after a tumultuous season.
“People keep asking me, ‘Are you going to come back? Are you going to leave?’” Richards told Extra. “It’s always something I decide last minute, sort of.”
“I think this season, particularly, because I had been so under the microscope, not just with the cast, but in the public eye. It’s been very challenging to navigate through that when I’m just trying to figure out my life myself," she said, referencing her marital troubles with husband Mauricio Umansky.
In July 2023, a source close to Richards and Umansky told PEOPLE that the couple had chosen to separate after 27 years of marriage.
"Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof,” the insider said at the time. “They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family."
The duo met at a nightclub in 1994. At the time, Richards was divorced from her first husband Guraish Aldjufrie, with whom she had daughter Farrah Brittany (née Aldjufrie). After getting engaged later that year, the couple tied the knot in January 1996 and went on to welcome three daughters: Alexia, Sophia, and Portia.
During last week's reunion episode of RHOBH, Richards took some heat for the secrecy surrounding her marriage problems. Her longtime friend and costar Dorit Kemsley confessed it had felt "strange" to know that "something was going on," though Richards never confided in her.
"My entire adult life, I have been married," Richards explained. "And it's really, really difficult and it's really painful and, you know, we were trying to keep a brave face still for our kids at home. I wasn't ready and I don't want to feel like I should be in trouble for that."
"I'm figuring it out every day," she added.
