Kyle Richards lives in a haunted house once owned by Smokey Robinson: 'Very strange things happen'
Here's an anecdote more frightening than being put on Andy Cohen's hot seat: Kyle Richards lives in a haunted house.
During the Halloween episode of Kelly Clarkson's eponymous NBC talk show, the Bravolebrity revealed that she has experienced some ghostly encounters in her home, which was built in 1882 and previously owned by R&B singer Smokey Robinson. Though Richards hasn't seen any spirits occupying her abode, she said she's certainly heard and felt them.
"Thank God they haven't actually shown themselves because I don't know if I would be here right now," the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said. "I've lost both my parents and I've had some things happen. Like, a lot of things happen, especially after my mom passed away. Very strange things happen, like lights going on where they weren't even plugged in… and I hear footsteps a lot."

Richards added that "everyone in my family" has heard such sounds, and recalled that when she bumped into Robinson at a party recently, he asked if she too had heard the ghostly footfalls.
"I did not need to hear that," Richards quipped. "I was like, I wanted to believe that I was imagining it!" On the bright side, she noted that the spirits don't feel malevolent. "It feels safe," she said of her home. "It's like a good spirit."
Richards also invited Clarkson, who expressed a desire to have a run-in with the paranormal, to her home to experience it herself.
What are supernatural encounters when you've faced off against Michael Myers, anyway? Richards recently reprised her original Halloween role as Lindsey Wallace in Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends.
Speaking to EW in 2021, Richards said she "never ever imagined" returning to the franchise all these years later. "I never realized what an iconic film I was making at the time, either," she said. "I mean, I was just a kid. I had no idea it was going to be such a pop culture phenomenon. I'm just really proud and excited that I get to be a part of it. It was just such an incredible experience then and now."
