Yahoo News Kylie Minogue breaks silence after split from fiancé
Kylie Minogue announced that she was breaking off her engagement to Joshua Sasse earlier this month, and has now opened up about their split for the first time, saying it "wasn't meant to be".
Speaking to Australia's Herald Sun, Kylie explained: "I look forward to moving on, richer for the experience.
"I haven't had the white picket fence and happy ever after in my life, so far, but perhaps that' just not my destiny. I know love and I love to be in love".
Kylie previously confirmed she and Joshua had called it a day, writing on her Instagram:
"Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life. Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways.
"We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons."
Kylie met Joshua on the set of US TV series Galavant in 2015, when she was making a cameo on the show, and they announced their engagement with an ad placement in The Daily Telegraph in February 2016.
Meanwhile, Kylie looks to be busy working on a new album and confirmed to the Herald Sun: "I've already started work on my new album. It's been so rewarding and such a good tonic to be back in the studio."
And, if recent reports are to be believed, she can also look forward to hosting the new series of Blind Date on Channel 5.
